1   Q. Do I have to change banks?
A. No. You can still retain your existing bank relations and accounts. All you need to do is to start using the Pay@Table system once installed and watch your service levels and profits increase.
x
2   Q. What is the range of the Pay@Table hand held?
A. The hand held can cover up to 100,000 sq. ft. depending on base location and obstacles. The achieved range is dependent on what is between the base and the hand held, such as walls, pillars etc.
x
3   Q. How many transactions can I process before I need to recharge the battery?
A. It is possible to achieve 200 transactions on a fully charged battery before recharging is required. The actual number of transactions will depend on many factors that affect power consumption.
x
4   Q. How long does it take to fully charge a battery?
A. It is recommended that you charge the battery for 4 hours before its first use. Subsequent charges should only take two hours for a full charge.
x
5   Q. Do I have to return the hand held to the base to complete the transaction?
A. The communication between the base and the hand held uses a 128 bit encrypted and very secure Bluetooth Radio Frequency. The transaction can be completed while the hand held is still with the customer.

x
6   Q. How long does a transaction take to complete?
A. The i7780 operates via a dial line or broadband connection so your transaction speed will be either similar to a fixed dial terminal or a high-speed Internet connection. Transactions of 2-4 seconds and 20-30 seconds can be expected for broadband or dial connections respectively.
x
7   Q. Is my transaction secure considering I am transmitting the data using a RF link?
A. The type of Bluetooth technology used by Ingenico is one of the safest and secure wireless technologies. Additionally, there is encryption used between the base and the hand held and during a debit transaction the PIN is encrypted before it leaves the hand held.
x
8   Q. How many transactions does the terminal hold before requiring a batch close?
A. The terminal software is designed to handle 1000 transactions before requiring a batch close.
x
9   Q. How many hand held terminals can I have connected to one base?
A. Up to seven hand held terminals can be connected to a single base.
x
10   Q. How many bases can I have installed at my location?
A. There is no limit to the number of bases that may be installed. Only one base at a time can use a shared telephone/communication line when using a broadband connection we recommend up to 4 bases, although in some instances we have seen 7 working simutaneously.

11   Q. Can the Pay@Table solution be integrated into my cash register system?
A. Yes. There are several value-added resellers and systems implementation houses that are developing an "integrated" Pay@Table solution so that your transactions can be fully integrated with your other payment systems.
x
12   Q. Is the terminal EMV ready?
A. The Pay@Table system is EMV 4.0 compliant and can handle future PIN on credit and smart card transactions. To use a smart card requires an application designed to support smart cards.
x
13   Q. Can I have a credit/debit, loyalty or other value-add applications on the same hand held?
A. Yes. The UNICAPT® architecture of the Pay@Table hand held supports multiple applications with a secure firewall between them. Applications are separate and cannot affect another application.
x
14   Q. Will there be interference between this and other RF devices or cordless phones in my location or in other nearby locations?
A. The Pay@Table solution is designed to monitor the frequency channels it uses. It will find the best channel and communicate with the hand held on that channel. This is a dynamic operation that is transparent to the user.
x
15   Q. Do I need a license for these terminals?
A. The frequency band used by the Pay@Table solution is a public band and does not require a license.

Q. Will my servers have to learn completely new procedures?
A. To get the most efficiency out of a Pay@Table solution, some training would be useful. Tips on how to introduce the concept to the customer, what the customer needs to do, how the server can speed customer transactions etc. will benefit both you and the customer. Although the system is very intuitive, introducing consumers to a new form of payment may take some explanation. Your customers are used to using their debit cards at retail, so the process should be familiar and easily adopted by them.

x
17   Q. Will using this device at the table slow my servers down?
A. The Pay@Table solution will speed up the transaction time since the server doesn't have to take the credit card back to the terminal, wait for the approval, take the card back to the customer and wait for them to sign it. No tip adjustment is required and end-of-shift closing is simplified. The server takes the terminal to the customer, enters the amount and lets the customer finish the transaction including tip. A receipt is printed for the customer and the customer is free to leave.
x
18   Q. My staff won't want to spend time "training" their customers on how to use this device Ð how do we overcome this?
A. The four line backlit display of the Pay@Table hand held provides all the transaction prompts in easy to understand format. The transaction looks the same as the transaction they are accustomed to when using wired devices.
x
19   Q. Is the terminal designed to withstand the knocks and spills in a typical restaurant?
A. During the design drop tests were performed to ensure the hand held would perform correctly after being dropped. Spills should be cleaned up as quickly as possible, however, the keyboard is molded plastic designed to keep fluids away from the internal circuity.
x
20   Q. Won't customers feel embarrassed entering tips while the server is standing there telling them what to do?
A. It is recommended that the server present the payment solution and leave the customer for a moment. The intuitive nature of the transaction prompts and the fact that the hand held is facing the customer during the tip entry improves privacy. The server does not need to see the entry or even be there during this operation.

x
21   Q. What types of businesses is this device targeted at?
A. The most common business to use the Pay@Table solution is the hospitality industry where payment finalization currently does not take place at the customer location. It can be used at other locations such as curb side payment, sidewalk sales or garden centers where remote payment finalization is needed.
x
22   Q. From the restaurant owner's point of view, what is the real benefit of this device over a conventional terminal?
A. There are specific cost saving benefits in certain markets that can create a ROI of 2-3 months or less. See the calculate my savings page. This is a strong incentive to adopt the Pay@Table solution. Further benefits come from improved customer service and satisfaction, improved wait staff tips, faster table turns, less fatigue among servers as they walk less etc.
x
23   Q. From a restaurant manager's point of view, what is the real benefit of this device over a conventional terminal?
A. The servers can handle more customers in a shorter period of time since they are not having to walk to the point of sale terminal, wait for the transaction to complete, take the receipt back to the customer, pick up the receipt and go back to the terminal to do a tip adjustment. Instead they can take the terminal to the customer with the amount entered and leave the terminal for the customer to complete the transaction including tip while they do other things.
x
24   Q. From the server's point of view, what is the real benefit of this device over a conventional terminal?
A. They don't have to wait for the transaction to be processed and will find it much more convenient for debit processing since debit and credit can be processed at the customer location. In most cases, tips are higher as the increased service level and ability to prompt for tip on the terminal result in higher tips paid.
x
25   Q. From the customer's point of view, what is the real benefit of this device over a conventional terminal?
A. The customer does not need to give their card to their server and can process PIN entry debit transactions at the table. They can get out of the restaurant quicker rather than waiting for the server to bring back their credit card.

x
26   Q. Can I use this device in a gas station?
A. The Pay@Table solution is not intrinsically safe and therefore can't be used at the pumps. It can however be used inside the store.
x
27   Q. Is this device safe for use in the rain?
A. The Pay@Table solution should not be directly exposed to rain.
x
28   Q. Is there a developer's kit available?
A. The Pay@Table solution shares the same development environment as other terminals with the UNICAPT® architecture. A UNICAPT® development kit is available from Ingenico USA.
x
29   Q. Do I need a dedicated telephone line or broadband connection?
A. The communications base of the Pay@Table solution has a connector for a telephone line as well as a telephone. This allows the terminal to share a telephone line with the customer's telephone or fax machine. The Pay@Table solution has the ability to detect if the line is busy before dialing and will wait until it is available. You can also connect the 7780 directly to a broadband connection or via a hub to access high-speed transaction processing.
